SUMMARY
Utilizing a fleet vehicle to promptly, professionally and safely complete service duties such as basic mechanical assistance and diagnosis, tire changes, lock-outs, fuel delivery, battery and electrical system diagnostics, towing and winch-out services for AAA members.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides prompt and efficient Roadside Assistance to include services such as basic troubleshooting of disabled vehicles, jump starts, tire changes, fuel delivery, lock bypass entry, winch out and towing. Must be able to safely operate an extended wheelbase tow truck on public roadways in metropolitan areas, parking lots and neighborhoods. Must be able to load and unload vehicles onto tow truck safely and without damage.

Ensures service is provided quickly upon receipt of the order and consistently provides high quality standards and response times. Ensures member, employee and vehicle safety at all times. Assures adherence to Standard Operating Procedures in Pacesetter operations.

Determines when a vehicle needs to be towed or when it can safely be operated.

Handles relationships with motorists and public agency officials; ensuring a positive and professional image. Answers question(s) and interprets policy regarding service guidelines. Provides recommendations for approved repair and answers questions on other AAA Colorado club services. Takes appropriate action to deal with member’s emotional state, providing reassurance and advice in addition to dealing with the technical aspects of the situation.

Completes all required paperwork in relation to prescribed duties including any applicable logs, inspections or reports as legally or otherwise required. Collect, record and secure all monies received from the member for services rendered and processes them according to department policy.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school education or GED required.
Ability to read and interpret directions utilizing electronic and traditional maps.
Intense knowledge of streets, highways and local landmarks.
Must have a valid driver’s license with no restrictions which would prevent driving during day or night hours, or for extended periods of time.
Excellent driving record; must have and maintain an acceptable driving record per insurance carrier’s standards.
Must be capable of working under pressure, busy circumstances and surroundings and to react to instructions quickly & willingly.
Must pass criminal background screening and pre-employment/random drug testing requirements.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS
Must have exceptional communication skills and the ability to build and instill trust. Must also have strong customer service qualities / skills and an outgoing, friendly personality. Must have ability to read and interpret instructions and manuals. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with members and co-workers.

MATHEMATIC/TECHNOLOGY SKILLS
Must be proficient in mathematics. Must be able to effectively use a mobile data computer. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating system. Must have the ability to operate a mobile, hand-held or desktop computer.

LEARNING ABILITY
Must have an aptitude to learn, understand and apply specialized training.

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to resolve problems and conflicts involving difficult and/or sensitive situations.
Must possess a strong mechanical aptitude/ability.
Must be able to understand and operate electronic diagnostic equipment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to drive, enter and exit the assigned vehicle on a frequent basis. The employee frequently is required to use hands, fingers and arms. The individual is required to lift heavy equipment (80lbs or more) and accessories under awkward conditions in potentially dangerous environments. Must be able to work various shifts of up to 12 hours.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Ability to function well under extreme weather conditions including heat, cold, ice, snow, rain sleet, hail, flooding and other elements. Ability to work under pressure during periods of high volume. The noise level in the work environment may become loud at times. The nature of work will expose the individual to occasional exhaust fumes, fuel fumes and other hazards commensurate with vehicle and truck operations. The individual will be working under the hood of a vehicle near running engines and moving parts. The individual will need to work in awkward positions, including sliding under cars, reaching, stooping, bending and kneeling on a regular basis.

Pay: Up to $75,000
